| So what about retouching? I know that some photographers say that retouching is not necessary, but I strongly disagree. Yes the shot must look just like you, but how many casting directors or agents are going to stand three inches away from your face and scrutinize every pore and line on your face? Black and white photography tends to exaggerate imperfections. And how about that inevitable zit that shows up the night before your session, or a bad hair day. Skilled retouching can take care of all of these problems and more. But the operative word here is skilled. Bad retouching is worse than no retouching at all, however there is no substitute for a well retouched headshot. All of the pictures on this site have been digitally retouched and without comparing them to the original it is not apparent to the eye, this is the mark of good retouching.
